Because I Said So
The movies are always great to look at. Some movies are true classics, some are total garbage not worth a glance and some fall somewhere in between.
Director Michael Lehmann’s new feature film “Because I said so” is a definite in between movie. It stars Diane Keaton as the over protective mother of co-star Mandy Moore. Moore stars in the role of Milly and portrays the youngest of three daugthers whom is hovered over by mother Keaton. Milly as such has become an insecure thirties something female just coming out of her latest dead-end relationship.
In slightly modern take on an old concept, the mother (Diane Keaton) decides to place a contact ad on the internet and interviews several prospective candidates for the job of dating her daughter. As can be expected, the movie then turns into a classic romantic comedy about the daughter and two prospective boyfriends.
The role of Diane Keaton, though well played by the actress, was a true drama. The total annoyance I felt towards the character almost made me want to leave the room. All in all though it was a reasonable movie, entertaining but definately not the best ever.
